Convocation photo

Finally the day came.

I got the chance to have a photo shot at the studio.

Finally the chance to put on the graduation gown.... after 3 years of hard work. Must give myself a tap on my back. And of course thanks to my mama and aunt who supported me financially through the semesters.... must thanks to myself for working vacation jobs to support myself.... haha....

Must thank alot of people lah!

Must also thanks to my incorrigible cousin aka Ugly creature who 'discriminate' me and made me work even harder to prove to him that I can make it!

Nah....

Today is really fun but tiring! I thought it will be a full family photo too... but hmmmm.... nvm don't talk about it.

But I really thanked my 2 cousins L and F who spare their time to go down to the studio and have a tiring, aching photo shot with us. After that, F still treat us dinner.... so pai seh! i should be the one who is treating them lor!!!!

Tsk! Next time must go Long Beach! Hahahahaha....

Really have fun! And of course looking forward for the photos viewing. So that I can get the CD Rom and upload pictures here!

I know my dear blog readers ( although not many) must be wondering when they can see.... haha... BHB. Soon I guess.

Oh....*excited*

Medical Claim

I finally got back the claim! Not from the driver... but through my "intelligence"!

I couldn't get hold of the driver who knocked me down, but the passenger who left his Hp number SMS me to ask me to pass my medical bill to the staff of Mac at a location* in Singapore.

*Not to reveal here. P&C

This gave me a clue that they are related to Mac. My last resort is to go and verify if there's this staff there. And I went there and asked for the manager.

This manager, Alvin ,confirmed that there is this staff. And so I decided to tell him the whole story and asked if he could be able to help me to track down this driver.

Within a day, he SMS the very evening, and told me he had emailed to the vendor, i.e the agency that Mac employ the driver from for their employees.

I was elated!

I couldn't believe that I got such luck to meet this manager who helped me that promptly. And so, I waited. The next day, Alvin called me and say he actually phoned to the agency and talked to the manager. He told me that the agency manager will talk to the driver and discuss how he is going to settle this.

Next, that passenger SMS me to ask me to give my bank account number to the driver so that he can bank in the cash that day.

Humpf! I gave! Cos my mama say should be ok to give the number. The next day I went to check my account, no money in!!! So he lied again!

Alvin Sms me again to say he already got the claim for me and asked me to collect it that day. Oh gosh! It's only like 3 days?! He got that settled for me!

I was extremely touched by his actions taken. This accident is totally nothing to do with him, yet he's so enthusiastic in helping me.

I managed to take down his full name and will definitely write a compliment letter to Mac management.

This is so called the SERVICE!

Real service.

Service with no returns.

I always replied his SMS by saying many thanks and appreciate what he had done. His replies will always be "at your service" "my duty to assist u".

Where got such employee that will do so much? Do things that is beyond his job scope?

Oh my oh my... it's really my luck to meet such good person.

Bless me!

Shocking accident.

Last Friday was the most 'suay' day in my whole entire life!

I met with an accident after doing OT and meeting my ex-colleague to a facial appointment which has been delayed due to our OT.

I was hit by a van.

While crossing the road between South Bridge Road and North Canal Road towards somewhere near Hong Lim Park, a van turned from my right and knocked into me. It was green man by then, and I was telling my colleague "Hey, green man! Let's go!"

My usual traffic practice is to look out for cars which dashed through the red light or are there cars turning from my side. I'm certainly that there is not a single car turning and so I took a few steps out. But without giving me time to realise that there's a fast moving van turning towards me, I was already sitting on the ground.

I guess at that time, I already got a major shock! I only could remember something hit me, heard my colleague calling out my name, I sat on the middle of the road with my butt hurting. The next thing when I opened my eyes, I looked at the sky. I couldn't focus. I saw lights from a vehicle next to me (the vehicle that hit me). I saw a lot of people but my eyes could not focus, so I immediately closed my eyes.

I heard alot of noises. I heard things like "Are you OK?", "Somebody faster call ambulance", "Check she got any injuries"

I was like fainting.

I sat on the road for like 5-10 seconds. I said that I wanted to stand up, but I felt giddy. A few people helped me up. I saw a foreigner.... then I closed my eyes again. My head is spinning. At that moment, I thought what's happening??? Is it very serious??? I don't feel any pain but onlt giddy. I couldn't stand upright, my legs were like jelly.

Someone asked me if I need water and offered me. Someone wanted to put some water on my head. Someone...... I can't really remember.

The very next thing is I got a chair to sit. Perhaps someone got it for me. There were ladies around, checking my injuries. 2 were Mcdonalds staff I guess. At that time, I already regained my consciousness. I was able to speak to them. My colleague was talking to the one who knocked me down, and the passengers on that vehicle.

After my colleague negotiated with the driver and his passengers, we waited for the ambulance. I can see the worried faces of the one who knocked me down and his passengers who asked me better to get a medical checkup at the hospital. But I didn't realise that they were malaysians and shouldn't have let them go 1st. What if I can't find them? But at that moment, how to think that far?

So the ambulance came, and my colleague waved to them to indicate our location. I think the driver cockeye! They turned in the direction of Hong Lim Park instead.

I was like -_-"

Then we waited again see if the ambulance will come back. I was thinking if this is a serious accident and if I got serious injuries.... I think I might not able to survive at the speed of the ambulance arriving.

Luckily it came.

The paramedics checked me and asked if I want to go for a checkup. My colleague urged me better to get a check in case there's internal injuries. So we sat in the ambulance and off to the nearest hospital.

In the ambulance, the paramedic kept talking to me, asking me to repeat the whole accident, checked my blood pressure, and checked my consciousness.

It drove so fast that the paramedic scared that I will fell from my seat.

Reached the hospital, was given a trolley to lie on and pushed into the A&E. It's so dramatic! Everything becomes so unreal! Along the way when they pushed me in, it's like what they showed in the drama serial, I was damn scared that what will the doctor do to me? Although I know I won't die! Hahaha...

My colleague was so scared! But she reassured me that she will wait for me outside.

The doctor asked me to repeat the whole accident again and checked on my joints. Nothing's wrong. No medication needed and of course no MC as the next day is already weekends.

After that, I was required to do a registration and payment. I was discussing with my colleague if I need to file a police report as beforehand, the paramedic and doctor who attended to me advised me to file. Before the driver who knocked me down left, he told us if we could settle this privately and not to file police report. I was in dilemma. What if they really run away and could not be contacted? I will be the 1 who lose out ultimately.

As we queued, the man before us who must have overheard our conversation, turned to us and advised us to file police report too. And he stressed that it's a MUST. I sensed the seriousness. Got a call from another colleague who was actually waiting for us at the facial there. She also advised me to file a report against the driver as we have their contact number and car plate number. I told her I was in dilemma and she say MUST FILE. Again I sensed the seriousness.

You must have wondered why I did not mention about my family? Why did I not seek for their help? I mean.... if you suddenly called back and told them a vehicle knocked you down, ut no injuries, will they believe you? Sure enough they will rush all the way to the hospital immediately. So I called home after I was done with the police report.

***My bro answered the phone, but talking to him is like talking to the wall one lah. He must be dumbfounded if I told him that. So I asked him to get my mum on the phone. I told my mum I'm in A&E now as I met with an accident. She was shocked. She said "Huh? What happen?" I said I was being knocked down by a van and was sent to the A&E by a ambulance. She was like in silence. I know she couldn't accept the truth and was in shock state. I assured her that I don't have a single scratch or what and was perfectly ok! She was like in a reprimanding tone saying why I waited till now then called home and should have asked my friend to call home or what. Then I told her How To?? Time doesn't allow me to speak more than 2 words to my colleague. I was immediately pushed in after I reached the hospital. I couldn't use my phone in that A&E too right?***

So we went to the mini police post in the A&E to file a police report. While I personally think that the policeman is STUPID!

He tried to side police and said that they will track down the vehicle as it's a foreign vehicle. He said once I filed a report, I couldn't seek compensation from the other party. The police also couldn't do anything to the foreign vehicle/driver in accordance to law, which later, he called the traffic police and say actually can. What the???? Contradicting response?!

I start to think that actually by filing a report doesn't mean that I can get my medical fees claimed unless I filed a civil lawsuit which I gotta pay for the law fees and blah blah.....

So for now, I gotta tracked the driver by myself and asked for damages on my own by calling on their handphone no. which they given us. Alas.....

My colleague actually helped me to contact the driver and was told that he's wiling to pay us back on Monday. Let's see how then.

But for those who concerned me, I'm perfectly ok! I guess it's a fortune within the misfortune. I count myself lucky that although I was being knocked but can you imagine I wasn't found to have any injuries or a single scratch? Maybe, I'm being surrounded by guardian angels. Being protected by all deities and gods.

Thanks to all passerbys who show that moment concern to me. Thanks to the one who called the ambulance and returned the call to my colleague to see if I'm fine. I guess there are still good good samatarians in Singapore.

Update: Countdown

Oh oh... the blog is becoming a update blog. tsk!

Here's the countdown:
Venue 1: Vivo City
Activity: Dinner

Venue 2: Clarke Quay & Boat Quay
Activity: Planned countdown

Venue 3: Padang cum Esplanade
Activity: Countown and Fireworks

Last day of Year 2006. We must have a big feast! This is the famous 無招牌海鮮餐館。Not that cheap though.

And of course the 2 Glam Queens of the night. Purposely put on glitters to shine Vivo... Haha...

Net's cousin coming along with us. I think it's really very hard on her as she accompanied us to walk all the way from Clarke Quay to Boat Quay and then to Padang.

The Padang countdown is a really surprised one! There's over thousands of people gathered around Padang field and at the parliament house. The traffic is stopped. There are car horns all the way as all the cars at the junction there were all 'engine-off'. We of course get into the field and find a good place to sit.

I was standing up. I guess it's a good position to see the fireworks and with excitment, I can jumped! Haha... The 1st firework came without our notice... and that's it! It's already the 1st second past Year 2007. The fireworks~..... Fantastic!

I like the golden ones.... they resembles gold! Splashing onto me~! Wooh! I feel rich! Hoping to get richer in Year 2007. That was an unforgettable sight.

Then after that there's no cabs available! Even we have bucks to spend but not a single cab! What the~ And we just walk n walk... then saw a night rider at Suntec and just hop in wherever the bus is going.

Drop at somewhere near Chinatown and walked all the way near WY's house. Planned to ton over at her place but there were 7 of us! No way for her parents to accept this right? I mean we need to be 'automatic' too.

Called the cab hotline... I was the 1st the get through while others couldn't even get the ringing sound... Told the operator where we are and where we heading to....wait for like 10-15minutes.... till we walked to a nearby petrol station.... they just hung up the phone saying no cabs available. Wah lau! We were like..... dead.

*Ting* Just then, a cab drove into the petrol station. We immediately waved to it. The cabbie was saying like he's going to the gents and gestured us to wait.

Thought of buying some chips and drinks at the mart at the petrol station, there's a super long queue at the cashier. Arrrrggggg...... so give up the thought.

I thought it would be the end of the countdown event and I will be going home sweet home. Duhz.......... My so called the 好朋友.... they don't let me go home! When I asked the uncle to drove to my staying area... they said we are going to ton at Net's house. Ahhhhhhhh............. with my makeup and contact lens????!!!! 好朋友 means 好朋友, she's going to provide me makeup remover and contact lens solution plus lens casing....and pyjamas! Net's cousin is exceptional nice to me by lending me her new small Winne The Pooh cushion to hug to sleep.

Guess what's my 1st gift on the 1st day of Year 2007?

A new toothbrush! From Net. =)

Update: D&D

Finally got the photos from 1 of the colleagues (or should I say ex-colleague?) Well, after the D&D, we will have a long New Year Break and this colleague will be transferred to another department.

Here are the photos taken at Intercontinental hotel.
My team members. Errrr.... I'm the shortest of all.... haiz....
Short.... short.... short.... Wearing heels doesn't help that much.

And totally unglam! 四大美女and a shortie.... tsk!

Sitting down doesn't help too! -_-"

So..... I climbed all the way up! But picture too small... can't see me.

This is even worse! Taken in the toilet. And it's really Doe-Re-Me. Yah... I'm the ME.
Conclusion for the whole event:
Managed to see my ex-supervisor and have a little chat with her. Erm.... most importantly is that I LOVED the food! Wah.... the sharkfins is like WoooooH! Fantastic! It's considered as high quality ones cos' it's totally different from what we have during wedding dinners. This is not so watery and can count the fins by pieces and not threads. The 'boo' thing is.... never get a chance to win the lucky draw! Wah lau eh!
